North Austin is actually an amalgamation of many neighborhoods located in the 78727, 78728, 78757 and 78753 zip codes.   North Austin homes have amazing access to employers of North Austin, such as Apple and Dell, as well as world-class shopping of the Domain and Arboretum.

It is inclusive of neighborhoods developed north and east of Hwy 183, west of I-35 and south of Wells Branch.

The Skinny

North Austin consists of many different neighborhoods that make up a section of Austin that is both aesthetically and geographically desirable.  Neighborhoods like Quail Creek, Barrington Oaks, Scofield Farms, Milwood and Angus Trail are varied in their look and feel and popular among buyers in North Austin.   

North Austin enjoys a short trip to some of the best shopping in all of Central Texas. Just minutes from the Domain,  north Austinites have close access to the high-end shopping of over 90 retailers.  Anchors such as Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co, Macy’s, Apple, as well as Louis Vuitton and Tesla Motors are enjoyed by shoppers as well as small, local, elegant boutiques.  Restaurants are also convenient with the Domain housing dozens of culinary hotspots—North Italia, Fleming Steakhouse, Blue Sushi Sake Grill and Cru—A Wine Bar, just to name a few.  

The Arboretum also provides shopping options for all categories of stores from Chico’s to Barnes and Noble Bookstore to  Avant Garde Jewelers this outdoor mall also makes North Austin an ideal place to live for those seeking access retail shopping.  Two great restaurants are located in the Arboretum in Z Tejas and Eddie V’s.  

North Austin employers makes a residents commute from their homes a breeze.  Many companies including Apple, IBM, General Motors, Dell and more have their main offices on the north side of town making North Austin a very desirable location to beat traffic.  

In addition to employers, North Austin has a variety of amenities for their residents from indoor recreation opportunities like Top Golf to the multitudes of parks like Quail Creek Park, Balcones District Park and Walnut Creek Park.  North Austinites also have great access to professional baseball at the Dell Diamond and one of the country’s largest indoor waterparks in the Kalahari Resort.

Homes in the North Austin area were built from the 1960’s to brand new construction   Prices range from the $300,000’s to more than $1 million.   Construction styles range from ranch-style one-stories to colonial-style two-stories to contemporary homes.  North Austin is one of the fastest growing areas in Central Texas and has experienced an economic and residential expansion over the past two decades. The Schools

The Austin ISD serves the majority of students of North Austin with Round Rock ISD serving some as well. Because of the wide breadth of neighborhoods, there are too many schools to name them all, however, some younger students attend elementary schools such as Hill Elementary (PK-5), Davis Elementary (PK-5), and Cook Elementary (PK-5). Older students attend Murchison Middle School (6-8), Burnet Middle School (6-8) and Anderson High School (9-12) and Navarro High School (Formerly named Lanier High School 9-12). Private schools include Brentwood Christian School (K-12), Austin International School (PK-9), Hyde Park High School (9-12) and Austin Jewish Academy (K-8) just to name a few.
